Virtual pet spider game. Catch and kill flies in spider webs of your own design before your virtual pet spider starves. There are two game modes: Arcade mode, and Career mode. In Arcade mode you have to capture and eat as many flies as possible to keep your spider alive. Flies are plentiful, but hard to catch. This mode is recommended for beginners. In Career mode you need to keep your virtual pet spider alive for as long as possible. Flies are precious so be sure not to let them get away. Progress is saved online, your spider will continue to grow hungry and eat flies that you have already caught, but you must return later to catch more flies or your pet spider will starve. You also get to pick the color of your spider. Have fun!

Abandoned spider webs are called cobwebs. Most spiders are harmless to humans but a few spider species, such as the black widow, can bite humans and inject venom. Deaths from spider bites are rare however. An abnormal fear of spiders is called 'arachnophobia'.
